Topic: Newton Rotary to Donate Bus to North Carolina Residential Home for Vulnerable Children

Background: A Newton Rotary member has a winter home in Sunset Beach, NC. During his times there he attends the local Club meetings, South Brunswick Isles Rotary Club (http://www.sbirotary.org/?fbclid=IwAR05G7RixFiHXe2JLZaaSlA5Z7r1OjNiVxYLtf5VKehAqwjKTtLXb6CC Recently he attended a function that the club was giving for one of their prime charities. The member, Frank Eberhart, learned that the recipient BOYS & GIRLS HOMES OF NORTH CAROLINA needed a bus to continue their programs.
He contacted his Newton Club and member Denise Current (owner of Stocker Bus Co) about the need. Almost immediately the Club and Stocker Bus Co made arrangements for the donation.

The 24/7 facility is funded by several federal and state agencies along with additional funds from many civic groups. They include: Civitans, Lions, Jaycees, Kiwanis, Optimists as well as several Rotary Clubs in NC
The Director of the School, Tom Simmons and Ustis Inman, Director of the Auto Academy, will travel to Newton for the presentation and bus acceptance.
They will drive the bus down to the School after the transfer.
The Newton Rotary Club has been providing services since 1923. They meet regularly at the Hampton diner and welcome visitors and prospective members to their lunch meetings.
