Bill Kehoe presided at our meeting in the absence of President John. Alden led us in prayer and Charles led us in singing America the Beautiful.
Guests:
Jack Choma, Newton Interact Advisor, Ryan Stapel, a potential member, Colleen Figueiredo, a friend of Charles, and members of the Newton Interact Club. They each introduced themselves, as follows: Rich Reezka, Danielle Frank (no relation to John!), Paul Casperson, April Saratelli, Danielle DeMirada Ribiero, and Abda Elsaadany. They are the senior members of the Club and have been extremely helpful both at the Food Booth at the fair and also at our annual Pancake Breakfast.
Happy Dollars:
Alden is happy to be a member of “People Help” which is a totally volunteer group of people from the county who help people in emergencies with one time funding. He would like Newton Rotary to consider making a donation.
John Cuozzo is happy that the Sussex County Band and Chorus will be performing at Kittatinny Regional High School tonight, and he urged everyone to attend.
Denise is happy that there was an article in the NJ Herald about our homeless project, and she paid the $1 picture fine for John Frank, who was highly visible in the newspaper!!
Carolyn was happy that her family hosted 6 farmers from Saskatchewan and it was their first time on the east coast of the USA.
Matt was happy to report that he took his wife to the hospital for baby #4, but it was a false alarm and so they went back home!
Jim Kunkel was happy to report that his son in 2nd grade passed his Math multiplication test and has now moved on to division. He loves his Math!!!
Linda is thankful to Pam for sitting in for her today at the registration table, and is also happy that her son came home and that she has a birthday this week!
Charles is happy to have the Newton Interact Club and Jack Choma, their advisor, here at the meeting, and to have his guest Coleen. She has a long history with Rotary, as her father was a Rotarian in upstate NY and her sister was an exchange student. All good Rotary stuff!!!
Jerry is happy that Judge Weber is doing well this week!
