This Week: Jim Alison will discuss the Paul Harris Society.
Last Week 5/18/16 : Tom Digby filled in the Speaker slot as our planned speaker called in sick. He related a wonderful story from when he was a young medical student at Johns Hopkins. He was looking for a part time job and found one doing research on rabbits. It paid $50.00 a week then which was a great deal! In the same building that they stored the rabbits, they also kept about 40 large chimpanzees in cages, and he had to walk past these noisy wild animals to reach the rabbit cages. His job was to draw blood from the rabbits to test it. One day, going in as usual, he was confronted by two chimpanzees which had escaped from their cages. They chased him, but he managed to run to the only exit, through the steel door, and escape. He believes the Chimps were being tested for birth control pills just coming out at the time, as a male and female were in each cage but the females never got pregnant. Thank you, Tom, for the amusing story!
Guests: Tom Digby welcomed our guest, Joyce. Welcome back to Eli Gaynor.
