Laura:  she purchased a glass bottle of the wonderful chocolate milk that was described in last week’s program and reports it was delicious!
Carolyn: her daughter is going to Thailand as part of the Debate Team from the University of Chicago
John Roberts:  he is happy for Bob Shankman’s return to good health, and for Alice organizing the high tea for the women in the club.
Frank:  happy to have played in a golf tournament this week, thanks to John Roberts
Tom:  glad to see Heidi back at the meeting
Linda:  she is $3.00 happy—her granddaughter’s graduation; Alice for organizing the Tea; and for the low price of gasoline in NJ (compared to some other states)!

Alice: welcome home from a long trip to Helen and Steve
Bob Shankman (back again!)- for Larry Condit’s extensive research on every aspect of Newton Rotary
John Roberts (#2)—he and Frank got to the “hole in one” at golf tournament prepared to win, only to find that someone had already done so!

Programs:
Carolyn introduced Michelle Kaminski, who in turn introduced Sarah DeGeorgio.  She thanked the club for our financial support and spoke of the many activities the Kittatinny Interact Club has participated in or sponsored during the past year.  Sarah will be attending the RYLA program being held in June.  Carolyn thanked Sarah on behalf of the Club and presented her with a check.

Carolyn then introduced Megan MacMullin, Esq, Chief Executive Officer of SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc.  Megan spoke about the need for guardianship services for the developmentally disabled both when they reach the age of majority and at some later time in their lives when their parents can no longer care for them.  She spoke about the different types of guardianship and the critical role that the guardian assumes.

Excellent handouts were provided that described the five steps of the legal advocacy program, and the costs to become a guardian were also explained.  At the conclusion of her presentation, Carolyn presented Megan with a letter indicating that a donation had been made to Manna House on behalf of SCARC Guardianship Services.

50/50:  Pam won the $11 for today but left the $343 jackpot for another week!
