Last week: Frank Eberhart introduced Tom Simmons and Huestess Inman. Tom is the Superintendent of the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina, a residential charter school supported by many local service organizations, including the South Brunswick Islands Rotary Club of Sunset Beach, NC. Frank attends meetings of the Brunswick Iles Club when he spends time in NC, and learned of the school’s desperate need for a bus. Thanks to the connection made by Frank, Denise Current donated a school bus today to the Boys and Girls Homes. Tom Simmons gave us an overview of the school and described how education had saved his own life as a homeless child fleeing an abusive home, and inspired him to devote his life to education and the Boys and Girls Homes. If you are ever in the area, please stop by the school and say hello.
Guests and Visiting Rotarians: Tom Simmons and Huestess Inman (representing the Boys and Girls Homes) and Ned Miller (Barbara’s husband).
