NEWTON ROTARY CLUB

MINUTES OF OCTOBER 19, 2022

Greeter for today was Judge Gerry Hanifan Sr.

Alice Vigiletti was acting President for our meeting as Todd Lattig had to deal with a family illness. There were 15 members present.

 Pledge of Allegiance: All

 Prayer: Judge Gerry Hanifan Sr.

Song: God Bless America led by Steve Wescott

 Happy dollars:

Jim: The dogs are all feeling better after last week’s fiasco.

Judge: He has encountered a bear in his yard, all turned out well.

John had foot surgery and is wearing a fashionable boot!!

Laura visited Pam who is still recuperating at home.  We are all thinking of her.

Carl asked for additional help at the Military Swap on Saturday and Sunday at the fairgrounds. He especially needs people to work on Sunday morning when breakfast is being served. Please consider volunteering for an hour or more, shifts are flexible, give whatever hours you are able. Hope to see you there!!!!  October 22nd and October 23rd.

Carl mentioned a Zoom meeting that was held last week about the District. This Rotary problem does not involve $$, however it is affecting everyone. We need answers from

Our leadership. The Four Way Test is not being followed by RI. There are still lots of questions that are not being answered and we do have a right to know the status of this issue. Laura mentioned that they want us all to continue to pay dues so they can continue to present programs. Newton Rotary paid our dues last August. They are still planning to have the District conference in April, details to follow. We are hoping that this does not get into the newspaper, this could ruin Rotary’s reputation around the world.

The 50/50 was won today by Bud Luthman. It was a huge $3.00. The big pot is now up to $115.00

Happy Fall Y’All……….enjoy the beautiful leaves in Sussex County!!

Meeting was adjourned at 1:23pm

Respectfully submitted by Kathie Shankman
