The meeting was held at Bristol Glen and was called to order by President Carolyn at 12:15. Alden led us in prayer, and Steve was our song leader for a Rotary rendition of America the Beautiful. We had many guests including: Valerie Frank, John’s better half, Irene Sisco, a resident of Bristol Glen and guest of Jan, Madison Rhine, daughter of Rob, Dody Welch, wife of Alden, Judy Wilson, significant other of Jim Taylor, Maryanne Condit, wife of Larry, Bristol Glen resident, Nancy Smith; Bruce Budd, son of Dewey, Jeff Walden, Newton HS principal, and Joyce Weisher, significant other of George Kaiser.
Happy Dollars: Jan gave a happy $5 for the concert that will be held at St. Joe’s Church this coming Saturday, December 14th, in which her daughter will be singing. She invited all to attend, and to come back to her house following the concert for a time of fellowship.
Todd was happy for a partnership his church has established with SCCC that will result in the Newton Methodist Church hosting a discussion on Climate Change this Saturday from 9 – 11 a.m.
Carl was happy that the lights are ON!!!!!
Steve gave a happy $5 for the staff at Bristol Glen, who gave up their parking spots near the building so that we did not have to walk a great distance to attend the meeting today!
Barbara gave a happy $5: half for the opportunity that five Newton Rotarians had this past Monday to present a check for $1,000 to the Newton Free Clinic as part of our efforts to address homelessness in Sussex County. The other half was for the inspiration of her granddaughter, Lexi, who recently signed up on the National Bone Marrow Registry. She asked that others be inspired as well and gave out information as to how to register for this life saving gift.
Jim gave a happy dollar for John Cuozzo, and another one for the Water Gap Singers.
Rob was happy that his daughter was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.
Mark was happy to have Jeff Waldron with us today as he is a 1985 graduate of Newton High School.
Carolyn was happy to be home from Canada because she gained 57 degrees on the trip home!
