Announcements:
The District Conference is coming up on April 21st -24th.  It is in our backyard at Crystal Springs, Vernon.  We are the largest club in the district and we are still looking for our club to have a good representation.

Charles and Helen M. are putting together a foursome to play in their golf outing.

Pres. Jerry presented a 25 year pin to Rich Hollyer.  We waited a bit to give it to him.

Induction of a new member, Chris Wilson, was introduced by Matt Hannum and inducted by Steve McNally.

Steve spoke of importance of “fellowship” in Rotary.

Chris Wilson grew up in Kansas and Steve mentioned he’s not in Kansas anymore.  Chris’s wife works for Nabisco and Chris says so pale because he eats experimental cookies…LOL

Program:
Speaker of the day, Perry Bonadies of the Rock Island Lake Club, a wedding reception venue.  He told us how he started working in a bar and grew up to run a country club.  His Rock Island Lake Club was awarded the SC Chamber of Commerce Customer Appreciation Award recently at the Chambers Awards Dinner.  They recently purchased the Bearbrook facility in Fredon and plan to operate it with the same successful method they’ve used for Rock Island, handling one wedding at a time.  No mass production for them.
This week our program will be “learning through motivation and laughter” by Tommy Hilcken.
Pres. Jerry reminded us to check the Newtonian to see if you are a registrar this week and to get a stand-in if you can’t make it.  He also asked that we fulfill our obligation we’ve accepted on various committees.

Happy Dollars $ generously given by:
  • Denise Current is happy Carl Lazzaro is back and that the apple pie didn’t kill him…LOL!
  • Helen Moch is happy nobody picked on her when she came in late…LOL and for her guest Allison Pullis.  Pres. Jerry told our Sargent at Arms, Jim Taylor, to collect the late fine.
  • Laura Camp met the Berkley Rotaract Club, and her daughter was able to play in the Nationals in Fordham Rutgers game.
  • Another happy dollar was given for Carl Lazzaro that when they opened him up they pulled out a whole Bratwurst!...LOL
  •
Picture Fine:
Pres. Jerry presented the District lapel pin for members sponsoring a new member to Carl and then hit him with a picture find.  The picture was taken where he was forced to listen to an environmental presentation.

50/50:
Charles Grotyohann won and he generously gave it to attending Newton Interact who didn’t manage to pull the lucky card. YEAAAA!
