Last Week 5/11/2016: Larry Ripley, editor of the District Inflight newsletter, spoke about the importance of Public Relations to Rotary Clubs. He offered specific suggestions to increase the Club’s profile through Public Relations efforts:
- As a Rotarian, relationships in the community are important as they help us to gain new members, inform the public about who and what we are and do and gain financial support.
- Develop a committee that will ensure ongoing and regular exposure in the community
- Contact the editor of local newspapers and develop a close relationship. Ask how we can send articles. Invite them to our meetings and encourage them to come once a month.
- Build relationship with the radio to broadcast public service announcements
- All local businesses should receive information on our fundraisers.
- Use Facebook and Twitter. Have someone actively handling the social media on a regular basis.
