Happy $:
President Jim is happy to announce that his daughter will be married in October.
Carolyn is happy that her oldest daughter is employed. She decided to defer her college graduation from this spring to next December to avoid graduating into COVID. She is working full time for IBM this winter and will intern with McKinsey’s Silicon Valley office next summer.
Laura is happy to have company from South Carolina. Her daughter and son-in-law are visiting while they drop off their daughter at college.
Alice is happy to report that she was recently tested and does NOT have COVID.
Announcements:
Alice reports continued success from Ebay sales. Buz and Sally recently sold items and donated the proceeds.
The Global Gift of Life Grant is paused at 70% completion while Sri Lanka battles COVID.
The Club received a check for $4,120 from our insurance company in settlement of the claim arising from the freezer that died this summer at the fair booth. Carl is looking for a replacement freezer.
The Superbowl raffle was held and the winning ticket was not sold by Newton Rotary. Jim Porter sold over $1500 in tickets, with proceeds to the Gift of Life, NJ, meeting – or perhaps, exceeding – previous year totals.
The 100th Anniversary of Newton Rotary is approaching in 2023. See President Jim if you would like to Chair or Co-Chair the planning committee.
