President Charles called the meeting to order and led us in prayer. The singing of “God Bless America” was led by Steve.
Guests: George Oritzo, Executive Director of Bristol Glen, Dawn Hall, member of Hampton Rotary who is interested in transferring her membership to Newton, and Beam, our exchange student from Thailand.

Beam gave an excellent slide presentation of her exchange year, including activities she has participated in and places she has been. Q & A followed.
Jon Sinclair also had an excellent slide presentation on Childhood Epilepsy and spoke about his personal experience with his daughter and how it has affected the life of his family. He and his wife started a foundation, CEASE, and Jon devotes much time speaking to young school children so as to increase their understanding of seizure disorders and how to respond to them in a classroom.

Next week, June 21st, the meeting will be held at Newton Medical Center, and the check from our annual Golf Outing will be presented.

June 24th: The Newton Garden Party will be held at the home of Jerry and Maureen Hanifan. Jerry announced that the pool would be open, but everyone would have to bring their own bathing suits!!! Alice has tickets for the party, and everyone is to sign up for a dish to bring.
Beam drew the 50/50 and the winning ticket belonged to Jerry N., but he left the pot to grow for another week!
