HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

A Thanksgiving Toast

To those Rotarians who have gone before us and are no longer with us, may we be worthy of the legacy they left us and may we be so blessed that we may leave something of value to those who follow us.

No meeting – Thanksgiving Holiday

Next Week, Wednesday, November 30, 2016
Social at Tuscany Bistro, 5 – 7 p.m.

Last Week, Wednesday, November 16, 2016

The meeting bell tolled at 12:15.  Pres. Charles led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.  Bud Luthman offered a timely prayer of thanksgiving.  Steve Wescott hit the introductory notes of God Bless America with the membership harmoniously joining in choral alchemy.

Philatelists, Numismatists and afficionados of antiquity were treated to a program highlighting their realms of interest.   Bob Shankman introduced high school and long time friend, Dr. Arnie Saslow, who took the audience on quite an interesting journey.  Arnie, who runs Ye Olde Curiositie Shoppe in South Orange entitled his address “Treasurers in the Attic” or “What You Need to Know About What is Valuable and Salable.”

Arnie commented on the value of coins, paper money, foreign coins and money, military paraphernalia, sports related material, and stamps.  Arnie also touched upon artifacts of antiquity and offered one note of caution – check “before you throw it out.  It could be worth a lot of money.”  Arnie, a nationally recognized expert, provided those in attendance with a fast-moving, entertaining, and very informative program.

Guests:
