This Week: The Newton Rotary Scholarship luncheon will be held at the Newton Country Club.
Last Week: Jim Alison, from the Madison Rotary Club, spoke on the topic of the Rotary Foundation. All Rotarians should try to be sustaining members of the Rotary Foundation by donating $100/year to the Foundation. A Paul Harris Fellow has donated a total of $1,000 over his or her lifetime and a member of the Paul Harris Society has donated $1,000 in a single year. Donations to the Rotary Foundation are held for three years, during which the interest is used to fund administrative expenses of the Foundation, until being released in the form of grants at the District level. Grants of $1,000 are available for local projects and grants, at a minimum level of $30,000, are available for international projects which involve another Club. Proposals for projects should address one of the Foundation’s 6 areas of focus: Water/ Sanitation, Literacy, Maternal and Child Health, and Peace and Conflict Resolution.
Guests: Frank Eberhart welcomed our guest, Jim Alison (Madison Rotary).
