Program - Wine Tasting with George Delgado -
George was a Wine Instructor then opened his own store.
1 - Chardonnay - William Hill - oak aging - full body White, Bolder -goes with tropical fruits , Chicken/Salmon
2 - Pinot grigio - Pizzolato - Light white wine - goes with Salads, Seafoods
3 - Pinot Noir - Les Allies - light body red wine - Translucent - goes with Chicken, Pasta
4 - Red Carbonara - Auspicion - Can't see through - Dry and Tannins will pair with Steak, Prime Rib
Rule of thumb - Sweet foods with Sweet wine- sugar in the wine; Dry with Dry wine ( Like dark Chocolate) - not sweet
Red color in wines come from the skin of the grapes.
White Wine will keep 1-4 years, Red 3-25 years
When you pour wine in your glass - swirl it around to aerate it. Let it breathe
Headaches from wine comes from sulfates that are too high - if it bothers you, buy organic red wines, Pinot Noir.
Keep wine at home 58 degrees, cellars or basement storage. Red 78 degrees. Store on its side to keep cork wet.
