Meeting Opened: 12:15pm Closed: 1:12pm
Fifteen members were in attendance for this month’s In-Service meeting. The gathering began with a prayer given by Bud Luthman followed by a hardy rendition of “God Bless America”. Then we gave an additional performance of song, led by John Cuozzo, “Rotary, My Rotary”.
Denise introduced John Hauck, a guest from the Blairstown Club, who informed us that they are holding a fundraising dinner on April 26 at the Stillwater Fire Station. All are invited.
Foundation Chair, Steve Wescott, looking sharp in a blue blazer, highlighted the honor of being named a “Paul Harris Fellow” before recognizing Bob Brady as our Club’s newest recipient. Congratulations Bob!
The singing quality of those present was tested once again, as we sang “Happy Birthday” to Bob Brady and Denise. Apparently, no one in attendance was married in March.
Happy Dollars: Denise had a unique birthday dinner celebration in North Carolina; Bud Luthman was happy that his 15-year-old granddaughter’s ankle/leg problem was corrected; John Cuozzo was impressed by the community turnout for a family member’s funeral; Bob Brady paid a dollar to note that his Rotary sponsor, Mike Hanifan was not present for Bob’s Paul Harris presentation.
Tidbits Heard: In a discussion of members losing or forgetting to wear their pin or badge the acronym CRS was to blame.
Important Announcements: (1) Volunteers are needed to serve in the Food Booth for the Military Show set for April 27-28; (2) The 80 tickets will go fast for the 100th Anniversary Party at the Newton Country Club on May 16.
