PROGRAM

Our Program today was presented by our own Dr. Heidi Weber. After an extensive and impressive introduction by Denise Current we learned Heidi is a publish author of many books and article about a variety of historical topics. She has also been involved with many associations and committees nationally.
Heidi’s topic for today was titled “Why July 4th”.The presentation covered topics such as what presidents and statesman died on that date as well as historical events which surrounds that date. She also talked about the framing and authorship of the declaration of independence and how Thomas Jefferson penned the document in just one day.

There were 200 copies of Declaration printed but only 24 are known to exist with two residing in the Library of Congress.
The first celebration of Independence was on July 4. 1777.
Heidi’s presentation was entertaining and informative. Thank you for an impressive presentation.
