Announcements :
- Next week, 8/10 /16 no lunch meeting – fair week.
- August 31st meeting will be a Happy Hour at 5PM at the Spring Street Grill in place of regular lunch meeting. This is keeping with the Rotary is to Rotate from place to place.
- New Member! Gus Medla – school principal. Referred and Inducted by Bob Walker. Carl Lazzaro welcomed him with favorite Rotary stories. Gus was presented with his Official Rotary welcome package, his bill, which will be mailed to him and importantly his Rotary pin.
- Carl Lazzaro did a great presentation on the history and good times in the creation and operation of the Newton Rotary Food Booth. The first year it was built and stocked within 3-4 weeks and brought in a cool $15,000 the first year. We still do an average of $15,000 - $25,000 per year. Cost to pull it all together is about $10,000. The Lentini Family has graciously donated all the corn from the beginning which makes profits from that 100%.
50/50 - $6.00 was won by Jan and she announced that everyone is safe for another week! $136.00 in the pot.
