Rotary Notes:

 

This week 2/2/22:  We are back at the Hampton Diner.  The Program will be Benjamin Dave’s Child Services.

 

Last Week 1/26/22:  We met at Denise Current’s catering barn to pack bags for the Homeless Project and enjoy a potluck dinner.  After packing 12 duffle bags, we found that we are short a few items for the children’s backpacks – 4 water bottles and children’s blankets (not sure how many blankets).  Perhaps Barbara Miller can clarify at our next meeting?  Alice reported that all the dictionaries have been delivered to local third graders, which concludes the Dictionary Project for this year.  Carl gave the blessing and we enjoyed a lovely meal of comfort food.  Thank you, Denise!

 

Announcements:

 

We have received a letter from our Sister Club, Columbo Metropolitan, announcing a fundraising effort to support a new pediatric heart surgery project.  Each surgery costs LKR 500,000 (approximately US$2,500).  Carolyn has reached out to Gift of Life NJ to see if we can partner with them (we would not be a Global Grant Partner this time, just making a financial contribution), since GOLNJ is a 501c3.  Carolyn is working with Jim Alison at GOLNJ to see how individual and club contributions might be structured.
