Newton, New Jersey                      January 20, 2021                  Carolyn Ottenbreit, Editor

This Week (January 20th):  There will be no mid-day meeting today, so that members can watch the Presidential inauguration.

Next Meeting, January 27, 2021:  Becky Carlson, Executive Director of the Center for Prevention and Counseling, will discuss the CLEAR program (Community Law Enforcement Addiction Recovery).

January 6th: Eleanor Wagner, author of two books:  Sussex County Hauntings and other Strange Phenomena and Sussex County Hauntings and other Strange Phenomena Part II, talked about the creative writing process and the wealth of stories of the supernatural that abound in NJ, giving her grist for her stories.  There was a lively discussion about old tunnels that run under Spring Street in Newton and in other parts of town, formerly accessed through the cellars of old homes in Newton. Ms. Wagner’s books are carried by all the local bookstores, and are also available on Amazon and Ebay.
