Announcements:
Donations continue to come in to both the Club and the Newton Rotary Foundation in memory of Tom Brodhecker.
Fundraising ideas are welcome! Alice pointed out that CDs and DVDs are selling well on Ebay. Please send Alice your old collections.
Carl pointed out that Rotary has drifted away from its initial focus on business people and fellowship as it has emphasized fundraising and service. We need to bring more business people into the Club.
The raffle for the Rotary Quilt has been postponed to the Saturday of next year’s Fair.
We need volunteers to clean the Fair Booth. We plan to do a big clean on Saturday, 8/29. We will meet first thing in the morning at the Food Booth. See Carl to join the fun!
Our next outdoor meeting at the Food Booth is planned for 8/26 and will include the installation of officers.
Laura visited Bob Shankman last week and reviewed his Club History files. They will be organized and stored in plastic containers at the food booth.
Jim spoke recently with Norma Cappola, who is now 93 years old and living with her daughter in MA.
Jan Pasculli spoke recently with Ann and Fred Seplow. She is sorry to report that Fred has taken a turn for the worse and is now receiving hospice care at the Andover Nursing Home.
