This week:  We meet at Bristol Glen for our third and last choral performance of the season.  The High Point Regional HS choir will perform this week.

Next week:  No meeting.  Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!  We will reconvene on January 3rd at the Spring House.

Last Week:   Adam Goode, Choral Director of the Newton High School Madrigal Singers, introduced the program.  The singers were accompanied by a percussion section and sang a combination of old favorites (“Carol of the Bells”, “We wish you a Merry Christmas”, “Silent Night”) and less familiar songs of the season (Tschotscholoza, a South African carol, and Betelehemu, a Nigerian carol).  We are grateful both to Newton HS and Bristol Glen, and especially George Arezzo for making the program possible.

Guests:  Bruce and Karen Budd, Catherine Fletcher (Honorary member), Irene Deal (Branchville Rotary), Joyce (guest of George Kaiser), Jack & Scottie Hontz, Dody Welch, Jeff Waldron (Principal, Newton HS), Maureen Hanifan, Ann Bain, Todd Lattig, Mary Anne Condit, Irene, Val Frank, and Leo McConville.

Announcements:
  • A Celebration of Life service for Dottie Budd will be held on Friday, December 15th, at 11:00 AM at the Newton Presbyterian Church.  Respects may be paid from 10-11 AM before the service.
  • The Board of Directors meeting has been rescheduled to this Thursday, 12/21, at 8:00 AM at Bill Kehoe’s office in Augusta.
  • The Chili Open will be held on 1/17.  We are looking for sponsorships and for volunteers to run the bar.
Happy Dollars:

  • John Cuozzo is happy for the Newton HS Chorus.
  • John Frank is happy for (1) Jan Pasculli and her guest, Irene, (2) Jeff Waldron, Principal of Newton HS (without whose support these events do not happen), (3) George Kaiser’s birthday tomorrow
  • Jan Pasculli is thankful for Linda’s work as CEO of SCARC Guardianship Services.
  • Jim Konzel is happy for his wife’s 25th birthday (celebrated belatedly at age 38).
50/50:  Dewey Budd won $17, but left the pot ($73) to grow.
