President Bill called the meeting to order the best he could.  It will be interesting to see if the BOE will be easier to control after getting all his training from Newton Rotarians.

Todd led us in prayer, then John did a remarkable job in leading us in song.  The other diners probably were able to recognize our rendition of “God Bless America”

No guest were present so we immediately went to picture fines.  President Bill was easily recognized in his front page, above the fold, in dynamic color photo.  Carl was neither on the front page nor in color but he still had to pay the same $1 fine.  Bob McCracken and Jon Connelly were also seen in print.  A posse was sent out to try and locate both of them.

There were a few happy dollars.  Carolyn was happy to be reunited with an old schoolmate at a Rotary function. Tom and his wife Jane were honored to receive the Gold Medallion Award from the State Ag Society.  Charles was happy to be back from Florida where he found the sunny, warm days to be monotonous.

This was an in-service meeting so President Bill encouraged everyone to share a favorite Rotary moment.  There were many shared.  My favorite, even though it had nothing to do with Rotary, was Bob Shankman recalling a date he went on with a socialite.  Bob was a little surprised to see her picture in the paper the next day announcing her engagement to someone else.  Kurt Walton asked an interesting question, “How many people in the room were born in Sussex County?”  Only one hand was raised.  It was our President Elect Carolyn.

Here are some dates to remember:  4/12 Volleyball Tournament to benefit the Gift of Life;  4/26 Walkill Valley club will be having a fund raiser at the Sussex Firehouse;  End of April there will be a cleanup day at the Veterans Cemetery;  5/4 will be the tree planting at noon at Memory Park and there will be a fund raiser held at Denise’s barn to benefit the Stillwater Historical Society;  6/29 will be the date of our annual Garden Party.

Kurt Walton took home $7 from the 50/50 but did not pick the ace of spades so the pot grows.  Please, someone win the pot before Frank returns north.
