Newton Rotary Club
December 12, 2018
Meeting held at Bristol Glen
The meeting was called to order by President Bill Kehoe, followed by a prayer led by Todd Lattig. The Kittatinny Regional High School Madrigal Choir sang a beautiful rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner, led by Conductor Patrice M. Kane. The choir then continued with their program which included a variety of Christmas and Hanukkah songs and an especially poignant version of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” It was a wonderful and festive program!
President Bill dispensed with the business portion of the meeting, but Jim Porter reminded everyone that he had Gift of Life Raffle Tickets.
Guests at the meeting included George’s significant other, Joyce Weishart; Tom Brodhecker’s wife Jane; honorary member Catherine Fletcher; honorary member Jack Hontz and his wife. Scotty; Bruce Tucker, guest of Steve Wescott; Irene Bitsko, guest of Jan; Bristol Glen resident Charlie; Superintendent of Kittatinny Regional High School Craig Hutchinson; Principal of Kittatinny Regional High School Brian Bosworth; and Bristol Glen resident Lois McHugh.
Following Bill’s departure, Carolyn made sure that we all had an opportunity to give some Happy Dollars, and the money was flowing as lots of Rotarians had good things to report:
Bud Luthman: $5.00 for answered prayers for his son, who had herniated disk surgery and was pain free!
Steve Wescott: $5.00 for his happiness at retiring from Sterling Finance on December 31st and for Matt Hannum taking over as a Managing Partner on 1/1/2019!
Matt Hannum: $10.00 to show his appreciation to Steve for being an outstanding mentor and friend over the years that they have worked together
Mark Hontz: $5.00 to celebrate all of the many opportunities there will be this weekend in the Newton area to celebrate the Christmas season, including a Moravian Church Service at the Methodist Church
