PROGRAM:
Jerry opened the meeting and led the pledge.
All sang a hearty “God Bless America” followed by a prayer by Alden.
Our guest speaker today is our own esteemed past District Governor, Barry Kroll. He is the District Membership Chair in Zone 32 in the northeast, which includes 28 clubs, our own being one of them.
He shared many ideas and aspects of club membership. Some key points are to ask many people, energize meetings, utilize a member prospect list, and bring in young members too.
He noted a YouTube rotary Elevator Speech that employs the reply to: What is that pin you’re wearing, “best decision I ever made!!”
He left us with a list of 100 ideas to attract new members.
Happy Dollars $ generously given by:
There were many happy dollars.
Bud brought in a young picture of John Frank and gave it to Bob, our Historian to archive.
Bob told us an interesting fact that Dolly Parton is also 70 and a Rotarian! Most of us didn’t know that. She has started the Imagination Library to help bring reading to poor children. It shows you that you can start anything, no matter what your age is!
John Iliff shared the Unity Choir which is performing the “Messiah” with local singers from over 30 area churches.
Charles G. was happy his guest was able to attend today. He also told us what a good time the Dart Tournament was. A picture was in The Herald paper.
Bob Walker is happy that Carl is a Freeholder. Also that Bob has 15 grandchildren!
Tom’s team lost the championship.
Jerry is happy our past District Governor, Barry Kroll, is here today.
Picture Fines:
Carl Lazzaro is fined again for picture in paper about recycling. Awww…..
50/50:
The governor pulled the 50/50 lucky number for Bob Morgenstern. It wasn’t Lotto but he was happy. Pot still grows!
