The meeting opened at 12:15 on Oct 4th at Project Self Sufficiency.
PSS had a lovely lunch table filled with an assortment of Cheeses, Sandwiches and Fruit. We took our seats, said pledge of allegiance without a flag ( that's dedication!) Bud said a thoughtful prayer and Kathy started us off with the patriotic song. We checked to see if we had any guests, but it was all Rotarians who came.
We did take turns offering happy dollars too.
Project Self Sufficiency presented their program of all the good works that they do. From caring for little children while parents work, to helping people
who need a helping hand with a hand up, to elderly folks needing food to get by.
After, Rotary did a program detailing Polio, how devastating it is and the effort of Rotary to snuff it out. Rotary International has declared October 24th ,2023
as World Polio Day. On that day, RI will match our donations one to one, so whatever we give will be doubled. We then passed our ATM box around for the donations.
