Charles introduced the Bridge Program which is a program designed to include:
- Early Act (K-8),
- Interact (9-12)
- And Rotarac (College)
The program is designed to encourage and recruit the younger population of our community to participate in these programs so that they will eventually join Rotary Clubs.
Kittatinny Interact Club representatives, Michelle Kaminskyj and Samantha Waldron spoke about their club’s vision, mission and projects. Samantha noted several projects the club works on.
- Thanksgiving Meals
- Pillow Case project for children with cancer
- Swatches shipped to Uganda to be made into shoes
- Ocean Clean up in Sandy Hook
Chris Wolverton spoke about the status of our Gift of Life Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser. He is in need of players and sponsors. The tournament is on March 18th at Sussex County Community College. Registration starts at 5:30 PM and the game time is 6:00 PM. Please come out to support this project of the Rotary Clubs as we are a vital component in helping provide resources in treating children with congenital heart defects from around the world.
PROGRAM:
The guest speaker was Dennis Donero from The Gift of Life. He presented a heartwarming presentation about The Gift of Life and their mission and how grateful this organization is for Rotarian support.
Happy Dollars $ generously given by:
Larry Ripley is happy to be with the club today.
Tom Brodhecker is so happy that everyone sang so powerfully, especially the more “mature” members who did not have to read the lyrics off the paper (especially Larry Ripley).
Mike Hanifan is happy that Pope John HS will be starting an Interact Club.
Kurt Geweke was very happy he was not called upon by Charles to “officially” welcome our guests as the “Greeter”. Kurt did however; officially welcome our guests for the day.
Denise Current was very happy it snowed Saturday.
Picture Fines:
Carl Lazzaro was the fined. Reluctantly Carl accepted the fine and honorably paid his dues. He was pictured with a young boy from Fredon School that won a prize for an Energy Poem contest.
50/50:
Samantha Waldron from Kittatinny HS Interact Club pulled the winning ticket. “Bud Pot” (Bud Luthman) was the lucky winner.
